The Detective Branch (DB) of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) in two separate raids seized 3.50 kilograms of ganja and arrested three persons from different areas in the metropolis on Tuesday evening.
“On secret information, two separate teams of DB police conducted the raids and seized the ganja and arrested the three men from Shapla Chattar and PTC Mour areas,” said a press release issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB and Media) of RpMP Sajjad Hossain.
The detainees were identified as Abdul Momin, 19, and Kamruzzaman alias Litan, 18, of village Anontaram Machhuapara in Pirgachha upazila of Rangpur and Saidul Islam, 24, of village Paschim Shakhati Babuatari in Nageswari upazila of Kurigram.
“After filing two separate cases in these connections under the Narcotics Control Act 2018, the DB police handed them over to Kotwali police station of RpMP,” the release added.
