DIU launches research centre at Ashulia campus

Daffodil International University (DIU) has launched the Belt and Road Research Center (DIUBRRC) at its Ashulia campus under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Jiangxi People’s Association for Friendship of China, a press release said Sunday.

The MoU signed on May 28, 2022 at Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia, Dhaka, is aimed at promoting research activities nationwide and develop a bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and China in a broader context.

Former Minister of Industries of Bangladesh and Chairman, Bangladesh China Silk Road forum Dilip Barua inaugurated the research center as the Chief Guest. Munshi Faiz Ahmad, former ambassador of Bangladesh to China was present as the Guest of Honor, while Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman Vice-Chancellor ofDIU and  Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. S M Mahbub Ul Haq Majumder were present as the special guests.

The program was also addressed by Professor Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Mostaque Hasan, Former DG, Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and Former Chairman of BSCIC,  Liwen Yue, Counselor, Cultural and Educational Affairs, Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship delivered the welcome speech in the program.

Jiang  Jiang , Former ambassador and Vice President of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with foreign countries (CPAFFC), Tu Anbo, Executive Vice President, Jianxi People’s  Association for Friendship with foreign countries, Dr. Yang Hui, Chinese Director, Confucius Institute at University of Dhaka, Yu Guangyue, Director of Bangla Department, China Media Group (CMG), Monowar Hossain, Vice President, DCCI, AFM Aminul Islam, Consul General, Consulate General of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Kunming, China, joined virtually in the program.
