Bangladesh reported 77 more deaths from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, the highest daily death count since the pandemic broke out in the country, taking the total death number of deaths to 9,661.
Meanwhile, the number of cases rose to 6,78,937 as 5,343 people were diagnosed with the disease till Saturday.
The country’s maiden Covid-19 case was reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
As of Saturday, 2,931,078 people have died of Covid-19 globally with 135,400,114 cases of infection have been recorded so far.
