The Mercantile Bank Limited at a press conference Wednesday announced the launching of seven new card services for its customers.
The press conference was organized at its head office in Dhaka on the occasion of its 23rd founding anniversary. Bank’s Chairman Morshed Alam,MP, attended the even as the chief guest.
MBL Chairman in his speech said the bank will dedicate its endless efforts to build new industries, develop the SME sector and encourage the unemployed and under-privileged youth and women in entrepreneurship.
Md. Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of the bank, said recovering classified loans will be the priority of the bank at this fiscal year. Agriculture and SME sector will be given preference regarding new loans, he added.
A.S.M. Feroz Alam, Vice Chairman, Al-Haj Akram Hossain (Humayun), M. A. Khan Belal and Mohammad Abdul Awal Directors, were also present.
The newly launched card services included Taqwa Debit Card, Taqwa Gold Credit Card, Taqwa Platinum Credit Card. Besides, there will four cards for conventional banking services. They are MBL Gold credit card, MBL Platinum credit card, MBL signature credit card and MBL Prepaid card.
All the cards contain contactless technology with EMV security features. Cardholders will not need any issuance fee or annual fee for the first year.
Deputy Managing Directors Shamim Ahmed, Hasne Alam and Md. Mahmood Alam Chowdhury, CFO Tapash Chandra Paul, PhD along with other senior officials of the bank were also present at the press conference.
