Dr. Momtaz Begum dies

Vice Chairman of Premier Group Dr. Momtaz Begum breathed her last on Tuesday while under treatment at a hospital in Singapore (Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un), family sources said.

Dr. Momtaz, who was also the Vice Chairman of Sheikh Hasina University of Science and Technology Board of Trustees, Chairman of Royal University Board of Trustees and a highly reputed doctor, was a former member of the parliament and wife of Freedom Fighter Dr. H.B.M Iqbal, Chairman of The Premier Bank Limited.

She was a well-known women entrepreneur and was the Vice Chairman of Hilton Hotels and Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel.

Apart from this, she was the Managing Director of Gulf Medical Center and Bukhara Restaurant (Pvt.) Ltd., Director of Nowrin Electronics Limited, Bengal Tiger Cement Industries Ltd and Air Concern International (Ltd.) and the Chairman of Beacon Travels International.

The namaz-e-janaza for the deceased will be held on June 30, 2022 at Banani Jame Masjid after Zuhr prayers and at Gulshan Central Jame Masjid (Azad Masjid) after Asr prayers.
