Thrust on infusing dynamism into district branding activities

Infusing dynamism into the activities related to district branding can be the best ways of familiarizing Bangladesh towards the global arena.

Role of the tourism industry is very important to make Bangladesh attractive, highlighted globally as the prospect of expanding, flourishing and promoting the tourism sector is very bright.

High officials and other stakeholders came up with the observations while addressing a daylong divisional workshop titled “Infusing Dynamism into District Branding Activities” here Thursday .

Commissioner office of Rajshahi division hosted the workshop at its conference hall in association with Empire to Innovate A2I programme.

Divisional Commissioner GSM Zafarullah and A2I Project Director Dr Dewan Humayun Kabir addressed the workshop as chief and special guests respectively with Additional Commissioner Dr Ziaul Haque in the chair.

National Portal Implementation Specialist Muhammad Shamsuzzaman gave an illustration on the issue related to district branding along with its concept, while Director of Local Government Division Enamul Haque welcomed the participants.

Commissioner Zafaullah said the tourism industry is being detected as one of the main sources of earning foreign currencies. So, there is no scope of lagging behind in this industry.

Time has come to take forward the country economically after the best uses of the existing potentialities.

“We have many historical, archeological and natural sites in many areas of the Rajshahi division to attract the tourists from home and abroad,” he added.

More investment through adopting time befitting measures has become crucial for enriching the sites for bolstering the economic condition of the region.

Divisional Commissioner Zafarullah said both internal and external tourists can be the big power of revitalizing the tourism sector in the post-Covid-19 time, so there is no way but to reach the Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB) activities to the marginal level.

Apart from this, an investment-friendly atmosphere is needed for successful promotion of tourism in addition to improved communication and services along with need-based infrastructural development.
