Bangladesh reported 38 more coronavirus related death in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of death count to 11,972.
According to the data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the fatality rate was 1.54% during this period.
Meanwhile, 1,514 more people were infected with the deadly virus in the last 24 hours, taking the case count to 7,75,027.
The daily infection rate rose to 8.99 per cent which was 8.19 percent a day earlier.
After a massive surge, the number of daily cases fell below 2,000 since May 1.
The country reported its first coronavirus cases on March 8 last year and the first death on the 18th of that month.
