Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said BNP is blaming the government for the current situation of the coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak without promoting public awareness about the importance of following health rules.
”I want to know from those making criticisms only for the sake of criticism – if the government has mismanagement, how the number of daily infection declined to below 600 from 8,000 and deaths from 112 to below 40,” he said.
Quader advised everyone to play a responsible part in maintaining health norms, as the Covid-19 is unlikely to fade fast.
The minister said that BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir had previously sought a rigorous lockdown and that when the government imposed a “lockdown” (restrictions on mobility) or a general holiday in light of the overall circumstances, the BNP tactically opposed it.
He said that the BNP distributed false information regarding vaccines in order to deter people from getting vaccines, but that their nefarious plans failed.
