Hearing sound of BNP’s movement failure: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader Friday said that the way BNP is exaggerating in the name of movement, it seems that the sound of their movement’s downfall is being heard. He made the remark while addressing as the chief guest the ongoing two-day international conference on Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) titled ‘4IR for Emerging Future’ at Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in the city.

Awami League (AL) Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee arranged the conference. Awami League leaders and activists do not follow the policies of fleeing as they do not run away from the country like BNP leaders, said Quader. Lauding the loyalty of AL men, he further said that Awami League has no history of fleeing from the country and the leaders and activists of party will die or go behind bar for the country if needed.

Criticizing the BNP men, he mentioned that the leader of BNP fled to London by making a bond (Muchleka) of not doing politics. Mentioning that the current government has transformed the country into a digital Bangladesh, the ruling AL leader assured of building a smart Bangladesh in the future. He said BNP did not free Khaleda Zia rather the worthy daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina suspended her jail-sentence and kept her at home on humanitarian grounds.

Quader added that Sheikh Hasina does not do politics of revenge whereas BNP does it. The talk about revenge does not fit to those who committed August 15 carnage, August 21 grenade attack and November 3 incident (the Jail Killing Day), he said. About the 50th Constitution Day which was observed Friday, he said this day has been approved by the cabinet nationally and the day will be celebrated nationally from now on.

Regarding the global crisis, the minister said: “Now, we have to ‘Talk less-Do more’. He urged everyone to work hard for bringing a positive revolution to tackle the ongoing crisis. AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-Committee Chairman Professor Dr Md Hossain Mansur presided over the conference.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and AL Science and Technology Affairs Sub-committee Secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
