BRAC Bank has signed an agreement with the country’s newest private airline, Astra Airways Limited (Air Astra), to provide Payment Gateway and Point-of-Sale (POS) services for the airline’s online and offline ticket sales, a press release said Wednesday. Md. Mahiul Islam, Head of Retail Banking, BRAC Bank, and Imran Asif, PhD, Chief Executive Officer, Astra Airways Limited, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organization on November 28, 2022. The deal will enable Air Astra to accept payments for ticket purchases from travellers holding VISA, JCB and MasterCard. The customers of Air Astra can make their payments through its official website https://airastra.com/, mobile app and sales outlets across the country. The partnership also enables Air Astra to initiate refund/cancellation requests of tickets purchased through cards with faster processing time using BRAC Bank’s online Merchant Service Portal.
