BUET clinches title of national girls programming contest

Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology (BUET) has become the Champion while Chattogram University of Engineering Technolgy the 1st Runner Up in the 6th National Girls Programming Contest-2022 hosted by Daffodil International University (DIU), a press release said Thursday.

The closing and award giving ceremony of the program was held at International Conference Hall of DIU on 25 February 2023 at Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Dhaka. Girls Computer Programming Club of DIU in association with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) and Ministry of ICT Division organized the program.

Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, DIU, was present as the chief guest while Professor Dr. M Kaikobad was present as the Chief Judge of NGPC 2022. Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub-ul-Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, DIU was present as the special guest. Presided over by Professor Dr. Touhid Bhuyan, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of DIU, the function was also attended by Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Dean, FSIT of DIU, Rafid Bin Mostafa, Judging Director, NGPC2022, Enamul Ameen, Technical Leader-Intel, Professor Dr. Sheikh Rashed Haider Noori, Contest Director, NGPC2022, Dr. S M Aminul Haque, Co –Chair, NGPC 2022 and Saiful Islam, Executive Chair, NGPC-2022

`Team Pirates’ of BUET has become the Champion while CUET Malnastictas has become 1st Runner Up and `Smells Like Team Spirit’ team of in the Shahajalal University of Science and Technology has become 2nd Runner up in  6th National Girls Programming Contest-2022

The top 5 teams were awarded with cash prizes, medals, trophies and certificates. The top 10 teams also receive cash prizes and certificates of recognition for their outstanding performance. A total of one lac fifty thousand taka cash prizes were distributed in this mega event

Among private universities, DIU_Aphrodites was Champion from DIU, and overall ranking was 19th.A total of 105 teams from different public and private university, colleges and schools took part in the contest.
