North South University (NSU) today organized a discussion session on the occasion of Mujibnagar Day on Monday, a press release said.
NSU VC, Professor Atiqul Islam, chaired the event.
Dr. Sharif Uddin Ahmed, Professor of History and Philosophy Department of NSU narrated historical stories around the Mujibnagar government.
NSU Pro-VC, Professor Dr. M. Ismail Hossain, highlighted the significance of the formation of the government in exile. This government played a crucial role in securing international support, he said.
A documentary titled ‘Mujibnagar Sarkar’ was shown at the start of the program. Professor Dr. Javed Bari, dean of School of Engineering and Physical Sciences of NSU recited a poem on this event.
