1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th doses of vaccination will be given to all citizens including abandoned children in 57 wards of Gazipur City on July 10 and 11. This information was informed in a preparatory meeting regarding this at the Nagar Bhavan meeting room of Gazipur City Corporation on Sunday morning.
City Corporation Mayor (Acting) Asadur Rahman Kiran presided over the ceremony, Gazipur City Corporation Secretary Md. Mostafizur Rahman, health officer Dr. Mohammad Rahmat Ullah, Dr. Tapas Kumar Halder along with officials of City Corporation Regional and Gazipur Civil Surgeon Offices were present.
Health officer Mohammad Rahmat Ullah said in the event that corona vaccination will be given in two centers in each of the 57 wards of Gazipur city area on those two days. Citizens aged 18 years and above will be given the first and second doses of Sinopharma and the third and fourth doses of the Pfizer company vaccine. Second dose 28 days after first dose and 3rd dose 4 months after 2nd dose and 4th dose after 4 months. And children aged 5-11 years will be vaccinated only with the 2nd dose (Pediatric Formulation Pfizer BioEntec). The required dose will be given in these centers, the remaining dose will be given from Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital.
Acting Mayor of Gazipur City Asadur Rahman Kiran said that the City Corporation has made all preparations to complete the vaccination program in the event. This initiative has been taken to ensure smooth completion of the Covid-19 vaccine/vaccination program.
After the meeting, an advocacy workshop was held on the occasion of World Immunization Week at the same venue. Dr. Tapas Kumar Halder presented a video on selection of vaccination centers in metropolitan areas, vaccination and volunteers.
