Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS), Daffodil International University is thrilled to announce its receipt of the prestigious 2023 Grassroots Action Research Micro-grants awarded by The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA), a press releases said on Monday. Comprising esteemed global experts, including researchers, policymakers, funders, development organizations, and community-centric entities, ARA is dedicated to propelling adaptation efforts that promote climate-resilient futures. The consortium’s endeavors are generously supported by UKAID from the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with additional backing from the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR). Notably, in 2023, ARA acknowledged 30 exceptional projects from the Global South, all aimed at nurturing local resilience-building initiatives.
Daffodil International University’s award-winning project shines a spotlight on the pressing issues faced by disadvantaged pregnant women in Bangladesh’s coastal regions. By leveraging frugal technology and fostering a community-driven model, the initiative aspires to enhance the health status of the often overlooked and marginalized coastal pregnant women communities in Bangladesh. This action research will serve as a beacon, guiding efforts to provide essential healthcare solutions to these vulnerable groups.
