Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered heroin worth Tk 22 lakh after searching the passenger Shyamoli bus on the Dhaka-highway on August 31.
1 kg and 100 grams of heroin was recovered from a bus coming from Jhenaidah in Bhatiari BMA Gate area of Chattogram. However, the owner of the seized heroin was not found.
According to BGB and Narcotics Control Directorate, heroin is being smuggled out using Chittagong as a route. Heroin has been seized for the sixth time.

In this regard, BGB Chittagong eight battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Shahed Minhaj Chiddiqui said that a bus of Shyamoli Paribahan from Jhenaidah District Shailkupa to Chittagong was carrying heroin and the bus was stopped at Bhatiari BMA Gate area. Later, during a search of the bus, 1 packet of heroin was found in a black bag. The weight of which is 1 kg 100 grams. The market value of this heroin is Tk 22 lakh.
