A day-long Tax seminar and professional meet-up titled “ANALYSIS OF INCOME TAX LAW-2023” was held on 27th October at KIB Auditorium in the capital city under the initiative of Corporate Academy, the emerging professional training institution of the country, in the presence of more than 600 professionals.
Corporate Academy Director and Chief Movement Maker Farhad Khan inaugurated the seminar where 3 key-notes on the new Income Tax Act was presented Mr. HM Shahriar Hasan,2nd Secretary-Tax Policy, NBR, Mr. Omar Faruq Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Taxes, NBR and eminent VAT and Tax Consultant Mr. Snehasish Barua FCA. A lively Tax quiz was also held at the event with everyone participating.
The special attraction of the program was the analytical panel discussion and Q/A session on the new Income Tax Act where Mr. Mohidul Islam Chowdhury and Bapan Chandra Das, both are 2nd Secretary-Tax Policy, NBR, prominent economist Dr. M MasroorRiaz and SnehashisBarua FCA was present. Corporate Academy Chairman Mr. Arifur Rahman was the moderator in the panel discussion.
The chairman of the risk management committee of CAPITAL MARKET STABILIZATION FUND (CMSF) and former member of the National Revenue Board Mr. Dr. Syed Md. Aminul Karim decorated the seat of the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest expressed his excitement to see the huge turnout of participants in a tax event like this.
In the speech of the Chief GuestDr. Syed Md. Aminul Karim highlighted the continuous activities of the National Board of Revenue for national development and urged all the officials of all institutions to pay Taxes transparently and accurately. For this, he urged to take the help of institutions like Corporate Academy to acquire the necessary skills.
In his speech as special guest, Mr. Masud Khan FCA, FCMA, Chairman-Unilever Consumer Care Ltd, praised Corporate Academy for creating skilled revenue personnel in all organizations and emphasized on increasing business knowledge and Tax management knowledge to improve the skills of professionals.
In the speech of the invited guest at the event, Mr. Syed Nurul Islam, CEO of Well Group requested all to emphasize on VAT tax efficiency as well as salesmanship. Another invited guest, Mr. Nazmul Haider FCMA, CEO and Co-Founder of Plutus Consultancy, urged all the professionals present to acquire communication skills in the light of his long working experience abroad to make an impact strongly.
In this day-long seminar, there was a busy job fair and free CV checking facility in the presence of about 20 organizations.
