Tomorrow (November 29) is the 6th death anniversary of country’s renowned Scientist & Educationist and Founder Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU) and former Vice Chancellor of National University Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, says a press release.
Professor Dr. Aminul Islam served as Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University from 2002-2010. He was the vice Chancellor of National University, Bangladesh from 1996-2000.
He started his career in the department of Soil Science of University of Dhaka in 1956 as a junior lecturer and promoted to Professor in 1973. For his outstanding contribution in our great Liberation War he was awarded Independence Award in 1991.
Professor Dr. Aminul Islam was serving as the President of Science Council of Asia (SCA) for 2016- 2018. He served as president of Bangladesh Association of Sciences (BAS) for several times.
He died on 29th November in 2017. To mark the day Daffodil International University will organize a commemorative discussion and doa mahfil at the university.
