Chittagong Range DIG Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournament held

They spend most of the day maintaining law and order. Many people do not even have leisure time due to the pressure of work. Taking a break from that busyness, the policemen played kabaddi. This event named ‘Chittagong Range DIG Gold Cup Kabaddi Tournament’ was held at BKSP Chittagong Regional Training Center on Sunday (February 18). KSRM, one of the country’s steel industry companies, has stood by this arrangement of the police.

Chittagong range of police inaugurated the tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Noor Alam Meena. Shahriar Jahan, Deputy Managing Director of KSRM was the guest of honor in the event.

Chittagong range DIG Nur Alam Mina said in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony, “Kabaddi is a traditional village game of Bengal, but due to lack of patronage, this national game is about to be lost in the country.” So Kabaddi has been chosen to organize the tournament. Other sports are being organized regularly in the country. But the organization of Kabaddi is very insignificant. So Bangladesh Police organized this. It is our national sport. We want the practice of this game to increase. Besides, Kabaddi needs sponsorship to bring back the tradition. BKSP is providing all kinds of support in this event. KSRM provided financial support. I am grateful to this sponsor organization.’

In the speech of the guest of honor Shahriar Jahan, Deputy Managing Director of KSRM said,

“Our friendship with the district police is long-standing. The district police is always with us. We also look for opportunities to be with them. We are very grateful to be part of such a great event like the Kabaddi tournament.’

Additional DIG of Police Chittagong Range Prabir Kumar Roy presided over the opening ceremony and KSRM Media and Public Relations Adviser Mizanul Islam, Deputy Manager Moniruzzaman Riyad and senior officials of District Police were present.

12 teams are participating in the Kabaddi tournament organized under the auspices of KSRM. These teams are participating in the three-day tournament from February 18 to 20 in four groups.
