Faruque Hassan, President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), has emphasized the need for making more diplomatic efforts to explore and expand trade and business avenues.
This call was made during a meeting with eight newly appointed commercial counsellors and the first secretary of Bangladesh embassies from various countries, who visited BGMEA on February 25. according to a press release.
During the meeting, President Faruque Hassan briefed the delegates on the current state of the ready-made garment industry, including its vision and prospects, with a particular focus on exploring new and promising markets for RMG exports.
He provided an overview of the industry’s key priorities, emphasizing product diversification, exploration of new export markets, technology upgradation, skills development, and value addition to propel the industry into the next phase of development.
President Faruque Hassan urged the commercial counsellors and the first secretary to actively promote Bangladesh as a promising investment destination for foreign investors.
He placed special emphasis on sectors such as textile machinery, man-made fiber and technical textiles, recycling industry, light engineering, and shipbuilding for investment.
He encouraged them to provide valuable trade insights and suggestions to help explore export opportunities in various markets.
