Dr. Omar Sharif Ibn Hasan, eminent Paediatrician and Hospital Director, Dhaka Community Hospital (DCH) , has recently been promoted from ‘Associate Professor’ to ‘Professor’. Dr. Sharif is also serving as the Academic Director of DCH Trust’s educational institutions.
Before joining Dhaka Community Hospital, he worked in Zahurul Islam Medical College, Pioneer Dental College and Shahabuddin Medical College. He has 16 years of teaching experience.
He passed MBBS in 2003 from Zahurul Islam Medical College, earned Post Graduation Diploma in Child Health in 2010 and completed MPH in 2016.
He is involved in various research projects related to environmental health crises such as arsenic and lead pollution in collaboration with Harvard University School of Public Health, Boston Children’s Hospital, Jadavpur University School of Environmental Studies in India, Oregon State University in USA, Nanjing University in China, and National University of Singapore. He has published 21 articles in domestic and foreign journals.
He has represented the DCH Trust at international disaster conferences and workshops in Japan, India, Thailand, USA, Mongolia, Malaysia and Vietnam.
