The Career and Placement Center (CPC) of North South University (NSU) hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Bangladesh Japan ICT Engineers Training Program (B-JET) 13th Batch on March 18. This event celebrated the culmination of rigorous training and marked the ongoing partnership between Bangladesh and Japan in the realm of ICT education and employment.
Professor Abdur Rob Khan, the Honourable Treasurer and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Acting) of North South University, presided over the ceremony to extend congratulations to the trainees. Additionally, Professor Keisuke Murakami, Vice-President of the University of Miyazaki, and Ms. Kayoko Kitagawa, Executive Director of SHINKOSHUPPANSHA KEIRINKAN, and the CEO of B&M Group, conveyed heartfelt congratulatory messages from Japan to all the B-JET trainees.
B-JET is a collaborative initiative between North South University, JICA, the University of Miyazaki, and the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), which serves as a crucial link between Japan and Bangladesh, offering valuable career prospects in Japanese industries. B-JET has evolved into a dynamic program aimed at empowering Bangladeshi engineering students for successful careers in Japan’s vibrant IT sector. Through joint efforts involving key stakeholders such as the BCC, SHINKOSHUPPANSHA KEIRINKAN Co, Ltd., and BJIT Limited, B-JET has emerged as an essential conduit for promoting cultural exchange, enhancing skills, and unlocking pathways to success by creating opportunities within Japan’s IT industry. In addition, Yuki Morishita, Head of Administration at the University of Miyazaki, and Sinnosuke Tasaka, Project Manager at the University of Miyazaki provided steadfast support to all B-JET trainees throughout their training program.
During the closing ceremony, twenty-nine trainees were honored for their exceptional performance and dedication. These certificates, awarded based on stringent criteria including program completion and perfect attendance, symbolize the trainees’ commitment to excellence and their readiness to contribute to the IT industry.
Professor Dr. Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director of CPC, delivered an inspiring Vote of Thanks, acknowledging the remarkable achievements of the trainees and highlighting the collaborative spirit that underpins B-JET. The ceremony also featured warm and insightful speeches from Japanese trainers representing Miyazaki University, reinforcing the bond between Bangladesh and Japan.
