Every year, Haor and the river are being filled by the soil of the Raksha dam of Haor. Crop protection dams should be constructed following scientific methods. So that the soil of the dam does not fill the river and the river. At this time of the year, the farmer’s harvest is over. Water must now be introduced in a planned manner to preserve the biodiversity of the Haor.

Also, the city dwellers need to be aware of waterlogging in the city. Plastic, polythene and garbage should not be thrown anywhere. Encroached canals should be freed to ensure free flow of water. Recently narrow drains are being constructed by narrowing some canals in the city. Both sides of the canal are being occupied illegally. Canals should be dug as canals, not drains.
