Rooppur NPP:  48 Bangladeshi specialists complete pre-licensing training

Pre-licensing training of the specialists for the first power unit of  Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant has been completed at the premises of the the project. However, the specialist will have to receive licence from the Atomic Energy Regulation Agency of Bangladesh (BAERA. Forty-eight Bangladeshi nuclear specialists including operating personnel of the main control room,  chief engineer and deputy chief engineers received training and faced basic licensing examination. The training was coducted by Rosatom Technical Academy.

Sergey Lyulin, Director of the project of Rosatom Technical Academy said the training programs consisted of several stages. After completion of theoretical and practical training in the Academy and probation at Novovoronezh NPP in Russia. The Bangladeshi specialists got a half-year long training at the  Roopur project site, before pre-licensing training.

Assessment of knowledge was done at each training stage based on 10 criteria.  Following that the trainees were recommended for preliminary appointment. Besides, the specialists of the Safety Culture and Personnel Reliability Competence Center of Rosatom Technical Academy studied their personal traits and psycho-physiological properties using special-purpose psycho-diagnostic methods. It is quite important from the professional point of view.

“The personnel are trained for one to three years depending on their position of responsibility so that the future specialists could operate the nuclear power plant safely and professionally,”  noted Sergey Lyulin.
