Six members of Congress have written letters to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Finance Minister Yellen about the recent events including the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, human rights violations and the protests demanding reform of the quota system in government jobs in Bangladesh.
In the letter, these legislators expressed deep concern over the human rights violations of the Sheikh Hasina government. At the same time, they called for the imposition of sanctions against the general secretary of Awami League and the ousted government’s Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader and Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
