The Director General of Bangla Academy resigned after 18 days of appointment. Haroon-ur-Rashid Askari. He resigned on Saturday. This information was given in a press release posted on the Bangla Academy Facebook page.
Last July 24 Harun-ur-Rashid Askari took over as Director General of Bangla Academy. He was appointed for a period of three years from the date of joining. He joined Islami University as a lecturer in English department in 1990. Later he served as the Vice-Chancellor of this University. He has several articles and books as a researcher at national and international level.
Professor Md. Before Haroon-ur-Rashid Askari, the Director General of Bangla Academy was poet Muhammad Nurul Huda.
