NSU stands by Khairul during his life support time

Khairul Alam, a former student of North South University (NSU) and a Guest worker of the NSU Career and Placement Center (CPC), was injured on August 5 while participating in the non-cooperation movement called by the anti-discrimination student movement. He is on life support due to bleeding in the brain as well as lung failure. Khairul has been fighting for his life for the last seven days at a private hospital in the capital. His family is spending days in turmoil.

NSU authority is constantly monitoring Khairul’s treatment. Vice-Chancellor Atiqul Islam expressed his concern and support, saying, “We are shocked and worried about the incident. We have already provided financial assistance, and the university will take full responsibility for his treatment. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, and we hope he can recover and return to his work soon”

CPC Director Dr. Khasru Mia visited him at the hospital on behalf of the university. During this time, he talked to Khairul’s family.

NSU has extended financial support for the treatment of at least 20 injured students who took part in the quota reform demand. Meanwhile, University Proctor Sylvia Ahmed assured all kinds of cooperation and navigating through these challenges after the movement.

The NSU authorities are bearing all the expenses of Khairul’s treatment. NSU is committed to ensuring the safety of university students in all types of emergencies. Under the NSU Emergency Response Team, medical, police affairs, legal, and counseling teams are actively working for students
