Bhutanese Ambassador to Dhaka Rinchen Kuentsyl paid a courtesy visit to the campus of Daffodil International University (DIU) in Daffodil Smart City, Ashulia Thursday. He also attended meetings with DIU authorities on various issues including education, economy and culture of the two countries. Col. ShaBdr. Rai, Minister, Royal Bhutanese Embassy and Mr. Kezang Wangchuk, Second Secretary, Royal Bhutanese Embassy also accompanied with the ambassador.
Prof. Dr. A.S. SM Mahbubul Haq Majumdar, Acting Vice-Chancellor and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Daffodil International University welcomed them. Professor Dr. Engr. AKM Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director (International Affairs) and Deans of various faculties, Directors and senior officials of the university were also present.
Ambassador Rinchen Kuentsyl wished that Bhutanese educational institutions would work with Daffodil International University on a wide range of issues like education, business, cultural exchange etc. in coming days. He emphasized on developing entrepreneurial spirit among the students and said that the Bhutanese government is keen to launch start-ups and venture projects with innovative students. This will make it easier to achieve sustainable development goals, he added. The Ambassador also said that a large number of Bhutanese students are studying in different universities and medical colleges of Bangladesh. Last year, we requested Bangladeshi universities to arrange scholarships for Bhutanese students. Daffodil International University has responded to our call. I sincerely thanks Daffodil University for coming forward in this regard.
