Mashrafe to return to cricket with T10 league in USA

Former Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza is set to return to the competitive cricket after getting a team in US Masters T10 League.

Elias Sunny and Syed Rasel, the two other cricketers, who have been out of cricket for a long time, also got the team in the tournament alongside Mashrafe.

Mashrafe though didn’t retire from the national team officially, he has been out of the national fold since 2018. But he was playing Dhaka Premier League (DPL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) almost regularly despite his injury problem.

And as he was an elected MP, his decision to continue cricket also was criticized regularly. However, after the ouster of the Awami League government following a student-led movement, Mashrafe is no longer an MP. He will play for the Detroit Falcons in the tournament.

Rasel and Sunny, meanwhile, were not regular in domestic cricket.

Arafat Sunny, Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Al-Amin Hossain also would be part of the tournament for different teams but they are still playing cricket at domestic level.

Nurul Hasan Sohan is other one to play the tournament after getting the team on direct signing. Detroit Falcons, Morrisville Unity, Chicago Players, California Bolts, New York Warriors and Atlanta Riders are the six teams which would play the tournament, running from November 8-17.
