Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman, BoT, Daffodil International University (DIU) has been elected as the Treasurer of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) for the tenure 2027-2030. Dr. Khan is the first Bangladeshi to hold a leadership position on this prestigious global platform.
The announcement was made during the IAUP General Assembly Meeting held on October 15, 2024, at the Beijing Conference Centre. The newly elected leadership team also includes Dr. Shawn Chen, Founder & Chairman of Sias International University (China), who will serve as the President of IAUP, and Mr. Tatsuro Tanioka, Vice Chancellor of Tanioka Gakuen Education Foundation (Japan), as Secretary-General.
Along with the Bangladeshi Universities Presidents delegates, around 700 participants from 53 countries including Asia, Europe, America, & Africa joined this grand Conference.
The outgoing President, Dr. Fernando León-García, President of CETYS University, Mexico, warmly welcomed the newly elected officials and expressed his confidence in their ability to steer IAUP toward further growth and impact in the global higher education sector.
