BRAC Bank contributes Phaco machines to BETH

BRAC Bank has contributed two advanced Phaco machines to the Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital (BETH) to make cataract surgeries more accessible for underprivileged individuals, a press release said Sunday. The contribution was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Meheriar M. Hasan, Chairperson of BRAC Bank, and Dr Niaz Abdur Rahman, Managing Director of Bangladesh Eye Hospital and Institute Ltd on October 6, 2024.

The Phaco machines are essential for efficient cataract removal, enabling the hospital to restore sight to thousands of individuals annually. By providing the hospital with state-of-the-art technology, BRAC Bank reaffirms its commitment to ensuring equitable access to healthcare, particularly for underserved populations.
