North South University (NSU) organized virtual orientation for newly enrolled students of Fall Semester 2021 on Monday, October 4, 2021.
Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of the Peoples Republic of Bangladeshwas the Chief Guest, a press release said.
AzimUddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, North South University was present as the Special Guest. Dr. Firdausi Qadri, Emeritus Scientist, icddr,b was present as the Orientation Speaker. M. A. Kashem,Mr. Benajir Ahmed and RehanaRahman,Members, Board of Trustees, NSU were present as Guests of Honor. Professor Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of North South University chaired the event.
Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting,Dr. Hasan Mahmud, MP was absent during the program but he sent a written speech and told, “I have learned that North South University (NSU) is hosting the Fall 2021 Orientation today. I am sure, it will be helpful for the students to continue their studies in case of Covid-19 epidemic and to fill any gaps. My wishes go with this time worthy initiatives of NSU. I congratulate NSU for its invaluable service to the nation’s education sector. I would like to expressmy deepest thanks and appreciation to the organizers and participants of the Fall Orientation Program.”
AzimUddin Ahmed said, “The purpose of NSU is to advance knowledge, which is not possible without a safe and comfortable learning environment. To that end, NSU authorities are committed to creating a sense of discipline among students. In the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022, NSU has been ranked in the top 500 universities in the world. NSU has been ranked as the No. 1 private university in Bangladesh in all types of rankings. I think in a very short time we will be able to get a place in the list of top 100 universities in Asia. He thanked the parents for keeping their trust on NSU and welcomed the new students.”
Vice-Chancellor of North South University, Professor Atiqul Islam said,“Students want to learn from the most knowledgeable and skilled faculties, I can assure you, NSU has the most qualified and most caring international quality faculties who teach students with utmost care. Among others, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Treasurer, Deans of Different Schools, Directors, Department Heads, Faculties and Officials were also present in the virtual orientation program. A large number of guardians and students were also connected in the virtual orientation through live broadcast on North South University’s Official Facebook Page.
