A training workshop was held at Pashchim Elahabad Sultanpalli-1 under Chandanaish upazila of Chattogram for the workers of modern agricultural machinery producers on November 8, 2024.
The workshop was organized under the Strengthening Farm Machinery Research Activity for Mechanized Rice Cultivation by the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI) of the Ministry of Ahruclture in collaboration with the Bangla Mark Limited.
Chief Scientific Officer and Project Director of BRRI AKM Saiful Islam inaugurated the three-day workshop workshop, which mainly focused on agricultural machinery manufacturing, safety and working environment.
Bangla Mark Group Managing Director Md Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Managing Director Sirajul Islam and Assistant General Manager (Business Development) Shahedur Rahman were also present.
The trainees at the workshop learned about modern methods of agricultural machinery production, quality control, safety and working environment. They were given special training in the use of handtools, welding, piling, power transmission, drilling and grounding. Advanced training was given in agro service, spare parts, supervising, mechanical and technical issues.
Speakers at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop said that Bangladesh will be able to bring about a further agricultural revolution if it advances in agricultural innovation in a modern and technology-based manner.
Harnessing technology will make rural farmers more self-reliant and prosperous, besides ensuring food security of the country, they added.
