Job Utsob held at DIU

2 day long (29-30 November) ‘Job Utsob 2024’ began on November 29 at Daffodil International University (DIU) at Daffodil Smart City.

This highly anticipated event brought together 150 leading companies and offer a wealth of opportunities, including 600+ job openings and 2,500+ vacancies across various industries.

Khaleda Akhter, Additional Secretary (University), Ministry of Education inaugurated the  ‘Job Utsob 2024’ as the Chief Guest. Presided over by Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Mazumder, Pro Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family, Dr. Md. Ayatul Islam, Additional Secretary, Technical and Madrasah Education Division, Ministry of Education, Mr. Yousup Faruque, Managing Director, Microsoft (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal) were present as the special guests.The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Dr. Tanvir Abir, Convener, Job Utsob 2024 and Dr. Fizar Ahmed, Associate Professor, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of DIU.

The festival aims to bridge the gap between talented job seekers and top employers, creating a platform where students and young professionals can launch or advance their careers. Job Utsob 2024 promises an array of enriching activities designed to empower participants and enhance their employability, including insights from industry leaders in the Leaders Talk Session, three specialized Masterclass Sessions focusing on emerging skills and industry trends, a Grooming Session providing personalized career guidance to refine job readiness, a Resume Drop Opportunity offering direct access to potential employers, and On-the-Spot Interviews for immediate recruitment opportunities.

While addressing as the chief guest- Khaleda Akhter, Additional Secretary (University), Ministry of Education, said, “This is not just a ‘job fair’; rather, it is a fantastic opportunity for students to enter the job market. Additionally, the initiatives taken at this ‘Job Utsob’ to prepare students for employment are highly aligned with the needs of the industry. Students should make the most of this opportunity.”

Meanwhile, in his presidential address DIU’s Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, said, “This university is entirely student-friendly. The administration has been taking all necessary steps to prepare students not only academically but also for the industrial sector. In this third edition of the ‘Job Utsob,’ we are hopeful that our students will find their desired jobs and receive proper guidance to prepare themselves for the job market.”
