Yarn, Fabrics & Accessories Show begins

The 10th YARN, FABRICS & ACCESSORIES SHOW, a focused sourcing event for yarn, fabrics, and accessories has started on 11 December at Hall-2 of Mezzanine Floor, International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka.

Organized by ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd, the event is featuring over 150 international suppliers showcasing a diverse range of yarns, fabrics, accessories, cutting-edge innovations, chemicals, and screen-printing machinery—all under one roof. The Show will continue till 14 December.

The inaugurating event was graced by the presence of Mr. Anwar Hossain, Administrator of BGMEA as Chief Guest, and Mr. Shah Mohammad Mahboob, Executive Member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) as Special Guest, along with other industry leaders.

The show is targeted at the Buying Offices, Buying Agents and RMG Exporters, Knit Composite units, Label Manufacturers, Importers, merchandisers, and provides an excellent opportunity for your members looking to source new collections and identify new suppliers at this show. This event will be the Sourcing Gateway of Yarn & Fabric, Accessories to discover Latest Innovations and New International Suppliers.

Anwar Hossain, the Administrator of BGMEA, extended heartfelt thanks to all the participating suppliers and stated, “The garment sector is the backbone of our economy, contributing nearly 80% of the country’s export earnings and consistently improving the living standards of millions. This exhibition reflects our commitment to innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the RMG sector. Through this, many companies from our country will be able to find the desired source for their raw materials.”

Shah Mohammad Mahboob, Executive Member of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) said, “Bangladesh remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a business-friendly environment for investors and trade partners. This initiative will pave the way for mutual growth and unlock the vast potential of the country’s garment sector.”

Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBHA), Merchandising Brotherhood Association Bangladesh (MBABD), Bangladesh Merchandisers & Suppliers Association (BMSA) extend their valuable support to benefit the members of their associations.

Bangladesh’s ready-made garment exports to new markets witnessed robust growth of 10%, reaching a total of $7.70 billion in July-April of FY24, compared to $7 billion in the equivalent period of the previous fiscal year.

After more than a month of disruption due to the political changeover and subsequent labour unrest in major industrial belts, international apparel retailers and brands are returning to Bangladesh with work orders for upcoming seasons. Local garment suppliers said more Western retailers and brands are now visiting the factories and inquiring about production as normalcy has returned to the sector.

They said Western buyers are placing orders for the next autumn and winter seasons. Manufacturing activities at the readymade garments (RMG) factory units at major industrial hubs like Savar, Ashulia, Gazipur, and the capital have returned to normal.

Renowned for its strong manufacturing capabilities and thriving ecosystem, the Bangladesh RMG industry is a global hub for apparel sourcing. Over four thousand factories export a wide variety of knitwear & woven garments products such as shirts, trousers, T-shirts, denim, jackets, sweaters, etc.
