Rickshaw Girl trailer released

‘Rickshaw Girl’, a highly acclaimed, award-winning film directed by Amitabh Reza, is currently scheduled to open in theaters across the country after receiving a lot of positive reviews at domestic and international film festivals.

Based on a novel by American writer Mitali Perkins, the film was initially scheduled for release in 2020. However, the scheduled release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On January 12, the new trailer for ‘Rickshaw Girl’ was unveiled, along with the announcement of its official release date. From January 24, the anticipated film will be screened across cinemas nationwide.

Amitabh Reza’s film ‘Rickshaw Girl’ revolves around an artist woman called Naima. She loves to draw. When her father—the sole breadwinner of her struggling family—falls gravely ill, Naima is forced to take on the challenging role of a rickshaw puller to make ends meet. Since she cannot earn enough by just drawing alone, Naima finds no other option and takes to the streets to become a rickshaw puller. Then, the story of the film continues to get more intense. The burning question remains: how will Naima fulfill her dream?

Novera Rahman plays the lead and titular character in the film. The film also features Champa, Momena Chowdhury, Naresh Bhuiyan, Allen Shubhro, and others in prominent roles. Momena Chowdhury portrays Naima’s mother, while Naresh Bhuiyan plays her father.

After Rickshaw Girl’s trailer was released, the film community became excited about this first full-length joint production between America and Bangladesh. Now, the buzz across the internet continues to grow. Executive producer Assaduzzaman Sokal said that the trailer and poster received instant acclaim after they were revealed. Banga is the digital partner of the film. Now only time will tell how big a mark it can make among the audience.
