Eastern Bank PLC. (EBL) has entered a partnership with Nou Kollan Foundation Trading Company Ltd. (NKFTCL) to work closely on environmental sustainability and community support in Bhashanchar coastal regions of Bangladesh. The collaboration under EBL corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aims to fund coastal forestation and tree plantation in Bhashanchar island in the Bay of Bengal this year. A total of BDT 38 lac will be spent to plant trees by NKFTCL, benefiting approximately 50,000 residents of the island, which will increase in future, by improving environmental sustainability and living conditions. Osman Ershad Faiz, Additional Managing Director and COO of EBL, handed over the check for Tk. 38 lac to Captain M Habib ul Alam, Managing Director of NKFTCL, to support the initiatives, at a ceremony held at the Navy Headquarter in Dhaka. The ceremony was attended by Asstt. Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel), Director of Welfare and Managing Director of NKFTCL; and EBL Head of Communications and External Affairs Ziaul Karim, Head of Administration Maj Md. Abdus Salam (Retd); Company Secretary Md. Abdullah Al Mamun FCS; and Head of Business Information Systems Md. Maskur Reza.
