The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) gave British-American Tobacco Company (BAT) Bangladesh the 8th ICSBNational Award. The company was recognized for Corporate Governance Excellence for the year 2020 in manufacturing category.
BAT Bangladesh received the prestigious award at a programmeheld at the Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden in the capital recently.
Commerce Minister TipuMunshi attended the award programme as chief guest. The award was received by the Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh,ShehzadMunim, Head of Legal and External Affairs of BAT Bangladesh MubinaAsaf and one of the Directors of the company K. H. Masud Siddiqui.
ICSB National Award is given every year to promote governing excellence and motivate organizations and the corporate leaders to make further improvements in governance.
Commenting on the achievement, ShehzadMunim said, “We feel honoured to receive such a prestigious award. At BAT Bangladesh, we endeavor to ensure best governance practices in every step of our business. I believe this award from ICSB will further motivate us to continuously ensure corporate governance”.
Professor ShibliRubayat-Ul-Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) graced the award ceremony as Special Guest. Corporate Leaders from Banks, NBFIs, Insurance and manufacturing organizations were also present.
