Dhaka Community Hospital mourns the 20th death anniversary of internationally reputed arsenic Researcher Dr. Shibtosh Roy.
A press release on Thursday said, Dr. Roy died in a tragic road accident on July 2nd in 2001 at Taraganj of Rangpur District.
The release said he went to the northern region of the country to identify arsenic affected patients for a joint research program of Dhaka Community Hospital, Commonwealth Research Organization of Australia (CSIRO) and the Geology Department of Dhaka University. He visited all the villages under 460 Upozilla of 64 districts of the country to treat arsenic patients. He was 51 years old when he died.
The release also said, Dhaka Community Hospital shows respect on his memory every year. In addition, religious function has been organized by his family for eternal peace of the departed soul.
