Md. Azizul Islam, Chairman of Alif Group, and former Chairman of Eastern University, has received CIP card this year.
Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi handed over the CIP card to Azizul Islam at a city hotel on Thursday. It is the 28th times CIP achievement of the industrialist.
He has been involved with various organisations, including the Australian International School, the company said in a statement.
FBCCI President Jasim Uddin and other important personalities spoke on the occasion.
The government has given CIP status to 16 businessmen for their contribution to industry, trade and export of goods. Each year the ministry of commerce declares businessmen as CIPs according to certain criteria.
