Banglalink has signed an agreement with Bangladesh Railway for an optical fiber sharing initiative, a press release said Tuesday. Erik Aas, CEO, Banglalink, and Banu Ranjan Sarkar, chief signal & telecommunication engineer (Telecom), Bangladesh Railway, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations. Md. Nurul Islam Sujan, MP, Minister, Ministry of Railwayswas present at the event as chief guest. Also present at the signing ceremony were high officials of both organizations. Under this agreement, Banglalink will use Bangladesh Railway’s optical fiber network in eight sectionsin the country for five years. The total lease value for 595.39 km of optical fiber is Tk 29.60 crore.
