BASIS-SEIP organized a successful IT Job Fair, Career Counseling, and Certificate distribution program at Daffodil Plaza in Dhaka on Monday.
The event saw the participation of prominent guests, including Md. MahfuzulAlam Khan, Joint Secretary, DEPD (Public), and Md. Ruhul Amin, Deputy Secretary, AEPD (Private-4). BASIS President Russell T. Ahmed presided over the program, and BASIS Vice President (Admin) Abu Daud Khan delivered the welcome speech.
A total of 35 companies actively participated in the fair, collecting resumes to fill over 200 vacancies. The fair, held from 10 am to 3 pm, allowed job seekers to apply to their preferred companies and categories. Some companies even conducted interviews and shortlisted candidates for further assessments during the fair.
During his speech as the chief guest, Md. MahfuzulAlam Khan expressed confidence that Bangladesh’s development and prosperity by 2041 would be driven by young, energetic individuals like the job aspirants present at the event. He emphasized the significance of skilled human resources in the IT sector to build a Smart Bangladesh.
Md. Ruhul Amin, as a special guest, encouraged the graduates, highlighting the vast global demand for IT professionals and the promising journey that lies ahead for them.BASIS President Russell T. Abu Daud Khan, Vice President of BASIS, emphasized the project’s main objective of creating skilled human resources in the ICT sector through free training, stipends, and employment assistance.
He mentioned that around 60.75 percent of those trained through Tranche-Three have already secured employment opportunities, and the project has successfully involved 23 percent of girls through two all-girls batches.
