The award ceremony for the 28th Berger Young Painters Art Competition took place on October 22 at Gulshan Club in the capital city. Organized by Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited since 1996, this competition aims to support and encourage the talented young artists in our country.
This year, the first place was secured by Md Imtiaj Islam for the outstanding artwork titled “Journey by Bus”. The second place was earned by Md. Ashraful Alam, while the third place went to Ariful Islam Bachchu. Additionally, Ahsana Nasreen Hoque Angona, Rakib Shanto, and Sahadeb Biswas claimed the fourth, fifth, and sixth positions. Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, expressed her gratitude for completing this year’s event. Professor Nisar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Art at the University of Dhaka and the Chairperson of the Jury praised Bangladesh’s artists’ abundant talent and promise. In addition to the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Art at the University of Dhaka, Prof. Nisar Hossain, the jury included Asmita Alam Shammy, Chairperson of the Department of Printmaking; Prof. Dr Mohammad Iqbal Ali, Chairman of the Department of Drawing and Painting; Md. Jahangir Hossain, Chairperson of the Department of Craft; Najmun Nahar Keya, Assistant Professor of Fine Arts (Drawing and Illustration) Department at Jagannath University; and Md. Maidul Islam Khan, Assistant Professor of the Department of Fine Arts at Shanto-Mariam University of Creative Technology. The Chief Marketing Officer Tanzeen Ferdous Alam and other officials were also present at the event on behalf of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited.
