Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexander VikentyevichMantytskiy called on BGMEA President Faruque Hassan at BGMEA PR office at Gulshan in Dhaka on Thursday.
BGMEA Vice President Miran Ali and First Secretary at the Russian Embassy Anton Vereshchagin were also present on the occasion.
They had discussions on various trade related issues particularly on the ways and means to enhance further the bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Russia.
BGMEA President Faruque Hassan said Russia is a promising market where demand for Bangladeshi garments is huge.
However, he said, transactions in banking channels and tariff complications are the major barriers to boosting RMG exports to Russia.
Faruque Hassan sought cooperation from the Russian government for resolving the trade barriers to pavethe way for exporting readymade garments and other products to the Russian market.
