Dhaka Boat Club authorities expelled Nasir U. Mahmood on Monday from the Executive Committee (EC) of the club, said a press release.
The unanimous decision was taken during a meeting of the Executive Committee presided over by club President Dr. Benazir Ahmed and attended by eight other EC committee members as well as Boat Club Adviser Rubel Aziz.
The release mentioned that the decision came in the wake of an incident involving popular actress Pori Moni and Nasir U. Mahmood which ended into a criminal case lodged by the Actress on Monday. The meeting also suspended membership of Nasir U. Mahmood along with Tuhin Siddique Omi and Shah S Alam.
The release also stated that the meeting decided to form a 3-member inquiry committee which has been asked to submit the findings before the EC committee within 72 hours.
The EC members observed that Nasir was in violation of club rules in allowing guests inside the club premises after club hours, which is a major violation and goes against norms of the social club, also read the release.
