BRAC Bank, BB hold SEIP training programme

BRAC Bank in partnership with Bangladesh Bank started a month-long training programme to groom new and promising entrepreneurs of the Chattogram Hill Tracts region, a press release said Thursday.

BB has initiated the capacity-building initiative under the Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP) to nurture the up-and-coming entrepreneurs in the cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) sector.

The unique training initiative titled ‘Entrepreneurship Development Programme’ was inaugurated at a ceremony at Hotel Hill View in Bandarban on November 24, 2022.

The programme is funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB) and managed by SEIP Project, SME and Special Programmes Department of Bangladesh Bank. BRAC Bank has already trained 50 up-and-coming business owners in two batches.

Fatema Rahim Veena, additional secretary and Executive Project Director (EDP), Finance Ministry; Mohammad Saiful Islam, additional deputy commissioner (revenue), Bandarban District; Md. Tariqul Islam, PPM, Superintendent of Police (SP), Bandarban District;  Asma Ara Begum, deputy secretary & AEPD (Public-1), Finance Ministry; Md. Nazrul Islam, chief project coordinator and additional director, SME & special programmes department; and Mohammad Jahid Iqbal, joint director, SME & special programmes department, BB, ,Syed Abdul Momen, DMD & head of SME banking, BRAC Bank were also present.
