BRAC Bank, Bengal Foundation celebrate 50 years of Bangladesh

BRAC Bank and Bengal Foundation are celebrating 50 years of Bangladesh through a cultural carnival.

A five-day cultural festival featuring music, arts and crafts, painting exhibitions, cinemas, literature and book exhibition has begunat Bengal Shilpalayaat Dhanmondi Road 27 in the capital.

The festival titled “Srijone o Shekore” is aimed at highlightingthe Bengali culture and contemporary life in music, film, dance, arts and crafts, painting, and literature marking the 50th anniversary of Victory Day.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM MozammelHaque opened the festival on Tuesday (December 14, 2021. Chair, Bengal Foundation AbulKhair, Deputy Managing Director and Head of SME Banking Syed Abdul Momen were also present.

Artists, singers and performers including Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Laisa Ahmed Lisa, KhairulAnamShakil, Bulbul Islam, ChandanaMajumdar, Munmun Ahmed, FahmidaNabi, AditiMonsin, Shimul Mustafa, BhashwarBandyopadhyay, BhajanBaul, KrisnaBaul, Rahul Ananda, Krisnakoli and the students of Bengal ParamparaSangitalay will be performing at the festival.  

An art exhibition titled ‘SwaparjitPrithibi(The Earth In Our Hands) will be held at Kamrul Hasan Exhibition Hall in the context of environmental movement. Besides, there will be drawing, craft and puppet show and storytelling session for the children. Moreover, a book fair will be held where BRAC Bank cardholders will be able to enjoy up to 30% discount. The festival will remain open for all.

Speaking at the cultural festival, BRAC Bank’s Managing Director and CEO Selim R. F. Hussain said, “BRAC Bank is a Bangladeshi Bank that encourages the national values and ideals. We are proud to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Victory Dayand we believe this multi-dimensional festival gives us the opportunity to determine our root”.
