BRAC Bank plants 3,000 trees on Environment Day

BRAC Bank recently celebrated World Environment Day by undertaking a thoughtful initiative to plant 3,000 trees at the Sheikh Hasina Polly Unnayan Academy in Jamalpur district, collaborating with the non-profit organisation Torupallab. The selection of trees was carefully curated to ensure their resilience against the ever-changing climate.

As part of its annual commemoration of World Environment Day, BRAC Bank not only plants trees at various institutions but partners with Torupallab to orchestrate these green endeavours. Furthermore, the institutions where the trees are planted pledge to nurture and safeguard the trees. This concerted effort is integral to BRAC Bank’s belief in promoting awareness about environmental conservation and fostering a collective ethos for building a greener world.

The newly established Sheikh Hasina Polly Unnayan Academy sprawled across 50 acres of land, bears significant promise in empowering the livelihoods of the local populace across the greater Mymensingh and surrounding regions.

During the tree-planting event, BRAC Bank’s Vice Chairperson Faruq Mayeenuddin, Head of Communication Ekram Kabir, Torupallab’s General Secretary Mokarom Hossain, Life Member Razia Samad, Executive Members Shahana Chowdhury and Imam Gazi, along with officials of the Polly Unnayan Academy, were in attendance. The presence of these esteemed individuals underscores the collaborative efforts dedicated to this noble cause of environmental conservation and sustainable development.
