BRAC Bank receives highest tax-paying bank award

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has recognized BRAC Bank as the one of the highest tax payers in banking sector and awarded Tax Card for Tax Year 2020-2021, said a press release.

The bank was recognized with a tax card and a memento on being the 4th highest income tax payer in the banking sector category. BRAC Bank has long been one of leading contributors to the national exchequer.

at a grand ceremony at the Officer’s Club in Dhaka Wednesday  in presence of Finance Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal, FCA,MP. The bank’s Head of Regulatory Reporting and Taxation Syed Bashir Ali FCA was also present.

Commenting on the recognition, BRAC Bank’s Managing Director and CEO Selim R. F. Hussain said: “Good governance, compliance, ethics and transparency are the pillars of our business model. Tax compliance has been one of our major goals as we strictly ensure local and international accounting standard. We aim to be a role model in tax compliance. And international credit rating by S&P, Moody’s, consecutive recognitions from SAFA, ICAB and ICMAB bear testimony to our good governance and compliance standard. We thank NBR for recognizing BRAC Bank with this honour. We attribute this honour to the trust and support bestowed on us by our valued customers, shareholders and investors.”
