Dettol-Harpic, Bangladesh Scouts to ensure a safe learning environment

Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh handed over hygiene products to representatives of Bangladesh Scouts at a ceremony organized at the Shams Hall, National Scout Bhaban, Kakrail, Dhaka on October 15, 2021. The hygiene products were then distributed by Bangladesh Scouts in 100 schools all over Bangladesh.

Due to the global Covid-19 pandemic, educational institutions all over the country were closed for almost one and a half years, with classes being held online. Now, with the declining number of Covid-19 cases, the Government has re-opened schools and colleges, bringing students back to physical class attendance. With this move, Dettol-Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh aims to aid the government in ensuring that proper hygiene practices are being followed at the educational institutions.

The program was presided over by Kazi Nazmul Hoque, National Commissioner (Social Development & Health), Bangladesh Scouts. Present at the event as the chief guest was Professor Dr. Syed Md. Golam Faruque, Director General, Intermediate and Higher Education Department. Professor Nehal Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka Board was also present as the special guest, a press release said.

Among others present at the occasion were actor Riaz Ahmed, Goodwill Ambassador, Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh; Dr. Muhammad Mosharrof Hosen, National Deputy Commissioner (Social Development & Health), Bangladesh Scouts and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism; Salahuddin Ahmed Tarek, Marketing Manager, Reckitt Bangladesh and journalists from various media houses.

Prof. Syed Md. Golam Faruque, Director General of the Department of Secondary and Higher Education said, “Ever since the government declared the reopening of educational institutions, we have prioritized the health and safety of students. In the course of the Covid-19 pandemic, the work done by the Bangladesh Scouts is more important than ever. The contribution of Dettol-Harpic in ensuring students’ good health is undeniable.” He also confirmed at the event that vaccine registration will soon begin for 12 to 18 year olds.

Kazi Nazmul Haque, National Commissioner (Social Development and Health) Bangladesh Scouts, who presided over the function, said, “Spreading awareness about the importance of proper hand-washing has been an important initiative by Bangladesh Scouts for over 30 years. Each year we do the needful to expand these activities and improve them. Reckitt Bangladesh has long supported us in such initiatives. We are grateful for Dettol-Harpic’s contribution to ensuring the safety of educational institutions.”

Actor Riaz Ahmed, Goodwill Ambassador of Dettol-Harpic Porichchono Bangladesh in his speech said, “A year and a half has passed since students were last physically present in school. It is crucially important to ensure the health and safety of our students at this time. I believe that these safety products from Dettol-Harpic will play a significant role in ensuring the health of students.

Salahuddin Ahmed Tareq, Marketing Manager of Reckitt Bangladesh, said, “Since 2016 Dettol-Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh has been working to ensure personal and environmental cleanliness in the society. Since Covid-19 has not yet been completely eradicated, it is advisable to ensure maximum health care for students. We think that these hygiene products will make it easier for students to maintain their personal hygiene.” He added, “It is an honor to be working with Bangladesh Scouts to advance this cause. I am hopeful that this joint effort will create a nationwide positive impact.”
