Dr. Asif Naimur Rashid, a seasoned professional in business and technology, has been appointed as an independent director on the board of Sonali Bank PLC, the largest state-owned bank in Bangladesh. Previously serving as the Chief Business Officer (CBO) of Grameenphone, Dr. Rashid brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.
In a press release issued by Grameenphone on Thursday, Dr. Rashid expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating, “I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to this prestigious institution. I aim to leverage my skills and experience to support Sonali Bank in achieving growth and ensuring a brighter, more promising future.”
Dr. Rashid holds a doctoral degree in Artificial Intelligence from California Southern University, USA. He also earned a Master of Business Administration in Executive Management from Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada, a Master of Engineering Studies in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics and Electronics from the University of Dhaka.
